Imbuing:

Tools: To imbue properties into an item, requires a soul forge, anvil and an imbuing tool called a soul hammer or imbuing hammer. There are currently two types of soul forge; the elven forge and the smaller gargoyle soul forge. There is also a portable version of the smaller one.

Soul Forge:

All three drop from Osiredon the Scalis Enforcer who pops from an Ancient (blue) fishing net or for the moment at a quest/event at Dock Town which is South of Moonglow. You can get to Dock Town by boat or by ferry from Moonglow or Vesper dock by saying "dock town" to the ferryman. There are also one or two public soul forges about - the main one is in Royal City on the Ter-Mur facet.  Recently I have added three house addon soul forges similar to the large public ones. These can be bought with Easter event tokens.

Soul Hammer:

To acquire an imbuing hammer, sometiumes called a "soul hammer" you will need to speak to Ortlem, the legendary artificer, by the public soul forge in Royal City, Ter-Mur facet. He will give you a soul hammer in return for two blue Tactical Hammers, two red Elemental Hammers, two purple Duranium Hammers, two Silver Hammers and 2 x Captured Essence. Those hammers drop from mini-bosses like The Beak, The Blacksmith etc. in Ilshenar dungeons, Peerless bosses like Chief Paroxysmus and Melisande as well as some other creatures. The Silver Hammer and Captured Essence drop only from superbosses such as Melisande, Chief Paroxysmus and Shimmering Effusion. The blue hammers can also drop from balrons, the red from elementals like blood, poison and acid, and purple hammers drop from things like ogre lords or arctic ogre lords.

Method:  The operation is simple. You hold the imbuing tool and double click it to use it. You must be within 2 tiles of a soul forge and anvil and you must have the required ingredients in your inventory.

Ingredients: Each ingredient produces a single effect.  Each effect uses one charge on the tool. You may add effects one at a time or all at once.

These effects may be + to stats in absolute numbers, Percentage increases or percentage chance of something happening (eg procs)

Enhancement Gem: Allows you to re-forge an item making it exceptional.  (from elven steed)

Pile of Inspected Valorite Ingots: Transmute the item's metal to Valorite   (from The Blacksmith) note that hue is not normally changed

similarly inspected ingots of other metals such as Verite will transmute the item to Verite with all of its attributes. Generally these are found during events.

Monsterous Interred Grizzle Maggots: Transmute leather of all types to Barbed Leather with all of its attributes. Hue is not normally changed.
